What to Expect On a Sunday Morning

First Time

We know that coming to a new church for the first time can often be intimidating. Our Hospitality Team would love to help make it a smooth, easy and enjoyable experience for you and your family.  Our Sunday "norms" have changed during COVID19.  As you approach our main door, you will find a sandwich board with our four screening questions on it.  This gives you time to consider the questions before you enter the church.   Upon entry through the main doors (which remain ajar), you will be asked the answer to our screening questions.  This same greeter will spray your hands with sanitizing spray or "happy spray" as some of our greeters call it, should you pass the test!  You will then go to the next station where attendance will be taken.  If you are new to Rice Road Community we will also ask for your phone number to comply with COVID legislation.  You are then free to go to the sanctuary where you will be seated by our ushers in a socially distanced manner.

During Covid, we have two Sunday services where we come together as a body of believers to worship Jesus. A service is typically a 60-minute experience designed around two main elements: music & message.  The music is played by a live band and worship team, and the message is Bible-based and practical.  Our first service starts at 9 am and our second service starts at 11 am.

During COVID 19, all children stay with their parents/guardians during the service.  We have packages available for children with colouring pages, word searches, etc. along with colouring pencils.  We ask that the pencils be dropped off in a clearly marked box after the service.  We love kids at Rice Road Community Church and we normally offer age-appropriate environments where your kids (Birth – 5th grade) will learn about Jesus and the Bible at their level. We have excellent, well-trained children's and nursery workers who have passed all the necessary background requirements. We ask that you check your kids into our kids’ area so that your children can enjoy a service tailored specifically for their age group. However, if you'd feel more comfortable having your kids attend service with you that is perfectly alright.

Thanks! Message sent.
